Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
The redesigned Memorial Sloan Kettering and Gerstner Graduate School websites launched on a beta release of Drupal 8 in the April, 2015. I recommended and led the migration of the MSKCC website from Drupal 6 to Drupal 8. The project included the porting of custom and contrib modules, as well as building custom solutions for functionality not yet available in Drupal 8, functionality includes LDAP integration, forms, page layout, SEO, and search.
Drupal: Open Source Content Management System
In 2010, I migrated Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to Drupal 6. The case study I wrote about my experience and approach for building MSKCC' Drupal 6 website was featured on Drupal.org's homepage. In 2015, I lead Memorial Sloan Kettering's early adoption of Drupal 8. Over the past 8 years, I have contributed dozen of modules back to the Drupal community.
Cancer Prediction Tools
Cancer Prediction Tools are based on clinical research publications, which are converted to web services that contain the research's algorithm exposing the calculation's inputs and outputs. This information is transformed into webforms built using a YAML based form builder, with interactive graphical results.
My Custom Built Content Management System
Like many developers, I built and maintained a custom "homegrown" Content Management Systems for many years. This experience made me truly appreciate Open Source CMS solutions, like Drupal. The custom CMS I built was called the Inettool.
My First Website
Jake’s Bodega, is my first website, it highlights my artwork and used the big blue house that I grew up in as the metaphor for the site structure. Using this website, I got my first job as an HTML coder and spent the next several years working for several ‘Dot Com’ companies.
Webform Module For Drupal
The Webform module allows you to quickly build forms that are flexible and completely yours.
Recently, I decided to focus all my Open Source contributions on one project, which is to provide the Drupal and Open Source community with a form builder and submission manager. Over the past year, I developed the YAML Form module which became the Webform module for Drupal 8+.
The Webform module is a powerful and flexible Open Source form builder and submission manager for Drupal. The Webform module for Drupal provides all the features expected from an enterprise proprietary form builder combined with the flexibility and openness of Drupal.
I am a passionate, professional, and personable developer.
I am a passionate, professional, and personable developer. I feel my job is to make other people's job and life easier when they are using a computer, whether they are an end-user filling in an application, a site builder building a web page, or developer reading and learning from code. The best way to achieve this goal is to listen, learn, and respond to people using my software.
Drupal, its community, and mission align with my personal philosophy, which is "...build the best open source content management framework—one that represents the newest ideas and best practices...". Still, it is always a challenge figuring out how one fits into an Open Source community and I have realized that I and the Drupal community benefit the most by having me do one thing and doing it well; that one thing is maintaining the Webform module.
The Webform module is my Open Source project while my career is about building large enterprise websites and applications using Drupal.
Hire the Webform module's subject matter expert (SME) to ensure the success of your project. I can review your project plan, recommend solutions, and implement custom features.
